Cambridge English: First for Schools is set at Level B2 and tests a learner’s ability to communicate confidently in familiar study environments, speak and use English in real-life situations, and develop their English language skills towards higher-level qualifications. This exam follows the same format and level as Cambridge English: First, but the content and treatment of topics is designed for school-aged learners.

Cambridge English: First for Schools has been updated for 2015 with a number of significant changes. The exam is now 30 minutes shorter and the Reading and Use of English papers are now combined. The Writing and Speaking papers also have new tasks. However, the exam remains at the same level and retains the same language and skills coverage as the previous version.

Cambridge English: First is set at Level B2. This level is suitable for intermediate study such as foundation and pathway courses, or for starting work in an Englishspeaking environment. It shows that the learner is becoming skilled in English.
